If you are a woman traveling overnight on business, be sure that the blouses and underthings you wear and bring can be washed in the sink and hung up or blow-dried. Missed luggage and/or connections can mean you arrive at a hotel late at night, with only the clothes on your back to wear the next day. Make sure you contact any hotels ahead of time, both to verify that they allow pets and to find out if they have any fees or restrictions. If you plan on attending any events or attractions where your pet is not welcome, ensure you have a safe place to leave them temporarily such as a doggy day care.

Be flexible with your destination on your trip. Although returning to a favorite place is always nice, it might be even better to discover something new and more memorable. You can save money by selecting an alternate destination.
